Izzy Watson

Coach Watson is the Head Girls Tennis Coach and JV Boys Tennis Coach.

Coach Watson grew up in Loomis, attending and graduating from Del Oro High School. She has always loved to be outside and tried many different sports growing up including Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Horseback Riding, Wrestling, and Softball. While at Del Oro, she was a Sections Qualifying Wrestler and a college-recruited Softball player. However, she found her true passion in Tennis. She started playing for the first time her freshman year and was in the Varsity starting line up by her sophomore year. She played in both the singles and doubles spots throughout her years on Varsity and the team made it to playoffs each season. She graduated as Girl of the Year in 2017.

After High School, Coach Watson attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she graduated in 3 years with a degree in English and a Minor in Spanish. While at Cal Poly she was on the Triathlon team where she qualified for Nationals in 2020. Unfortunately, COVID halted the rest of her athletic career at the college level. After returning to Loomis, she started playing Tennis again in adult leagues.

After Cal Poly, Coach Watson got her Masters in Education and Teaching Credential from UC Davis. She started her coaching and teaching career at Del Oro in 2021. She currently teaches English 9 and 10 and advises several clubs on campus. In her first season as Head Coach for Girls Tennis, the team won the Sac Joaquin Division 2 Section Championship. She loves coaching athletes from the ground up and believes strongly in a no-cut tennis program. She believes success comes from effort, teamwork, respect, and having fun with your team and hopes to continue coaching at Del Oro under this philosophy for many years to come.
