Chico, CA- The remainder of the varsity wrestling squad went to the 9th Annual Joe Rios Tournament (Chico HS). Logan Banks went 5-0 to take 1st place at 140 lbs. In the finals Banks wrestled Dominic Ruiz of Spanish Springs HS (Spanish Springs, NV), a 4th place finisher at Nevada’s 5A State Tournament. Banks had previously beaten Ruiz 3-2 at the 2022 Sierra Nevada Tournament and repeated his performance with a 4-3 win. Del Oro had four other place winners: Kam Rush (4th @ 115 lbs), Chino Igarashi (5th @ 147 lbs), Breyden Rush (6th @ 172 lbs), and Kevin Taylor (8th @ 197 lbs). Also competing were Luke Banks, Jamison French, Brayden Gury, Wyatt Spence, Eli Honsa, Aidan Cortez, Raiden Catsis, Miguel Cortez, Wyatt Alexander, Brock Sherman, Rocco Clark, Austin Wuerthner, Patrick Bailey, and Noor Bisharat. As a team Del Oro placed 8th out of 52 teams.
