Stockton, CA- Del Oro finished the third week of the post season with a 3rd place overall finish at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament. The Sac-Joaquin Section is the second largest section in the state, stretching from Yuba City in the north to Merced in the south and Fairfield in the west to the summit of the Sierras in the east. Del Oro finished behind Oakdale and Vacaville and ahead of 116 other participating schools. At the Masters Tournament the top 6 in each weight class advance to the CIF State Tournament in Bakersfield. Del Oro was able to finish the day with three champions, one second place, and two sixth placers. At 134 lbs Jagger French faced off against Roberto Lopez of Merrill West HS (Tracy, CA) in the finals for the second week. Last week at Divisionals French scored the winning takedown with 25s second left in the match to secure the 4-3 win. This week French scored the winning takedown as time expired to secure a 6-5 win. Breyden Rush (8th) and Rocco Clark (Top 12) advanced to the second day but finished just short of qualifying.
