Taking first at the Sierra Foothill League Tournament on Friday were Siraj Sidhu (115 lbs), Christian Perez (122), Logan Banks (140), and Jagger French (146). Sidhu pinned Chase Manski (Folsom) in the finals to secure his second league title. Perez defeated Orion Hill (Folsom) 4-1 and Banks received a forfeit from Kai Yi-Berg (Folsom) to win their first league titles. Banks had taken second in 2021 and 2022, but with this win he is the second Banks family member to win an SFL title (uncle Brandon Banks was an SFL champion in 2001). French won his third SFL title, scoring seven take downs en route to a 17-5 major decision over Rylen Smith (Folsom). Rounding out the finalists were Nate Mitchell (108), Kam Rush (128), Wyatt Alexander (152), Jamison French (159), Evan Hilmen (177), and Breyden Rush (192). All wrestlers move on next week’s Division 1 Tournament at Folsom next Saturday.
